Maayong Adlaw! (Good day!)
Greetings to all of our supporters out there. Here we are at the end of another month. We are still watching the COVID situation closely in the Philippines. Number of cases seems to be decreasing some. The pattern thus far has been an update every 2 weeks or so from the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines. At this time, they are still not issuing 9A visas (tourist visas) without an exemption from the government in the the Philippines. Joyce, from the General Baptist Bible College, has been trying to contact the embassy in Manila in order to apply for the exemption, but has been unable to get through to anyone. Please continue to pray for this situation specifically.
Here in the states, Schuyler has been filling in at Lilburn General Baptist Church. They have opened their arms and welcomed us as a part of their family. God has blessed us with extended church family. I have had the opportunity to teach Sunday school to a little girl who has stolen my heart! She is a precious soul. For those of you who may not know, I had a call to children’s ministry years ago. Part of deputation that has been hard for me is not being active in children’s ministry. So, during this delay, God has placed me where I can serve him.
On a more personal note, we survived the snow of 2021! That is one thing I (Cathy) will not miss in the Philippines. I do not like cold weather. Everyday, Allie would come and ask me if I was going outside. I would ask if there was still snow on the ground. She’d say yes, I’d say no! Her dad was much more accommodating. I did go out to get one picture in the snow.
The kids have been enjoying youth services at New Hope General Baptist Church on Wednesday nights. They have made some new friends that I pray they can keep in touch with once we leave.
We thank you all for your prayers and financial support. We could not do the work God has called us to without you. Please continue to pray for America and the Philippines.
