Yeomans December 2020 Update (West Africa)

Here is an update we received from the Yeomans in West Africa.  If you support the Yeomans family, you can look for this to be arriving in your mailbox soon.Yeomans Update – December 2020

Bonjour! We hope you are doing well and staying healthy. What a year it has been! Even with the chaos that 2020 has brought to many of us, God is still good, and He is still in control. We trust that because of His goodness, you all had a great Thanksgiving and that you are having an enjoyable Christmas season.

We have had several busy weeks here in West Africa. After the historic flood in September, displacing more than 300,000 people here in N***** and the surrounding areas, Sahel Academy moved their campus to the opposite side of town, and school began during the first week of October. COVID-19 has not had a significant presence here, but unfortunately, numbers are beginning to rise with the start of cool season. Up until this past week, we’ve continued to work in the village of G*** B*** (GB), partnering with a school and helping the people and children in the village any way that we can. We are praying for the Lord to open doors for our first church there. Additionally, we have identified two other villages where we hope to start churches soon. Please be praying with us that God would continue to work in these villages and make a way for our first churches to be planted.

We stopped working in the village last week, due to the possibility that we all contracted COVID. While our test results were misplaced, and we never heard officially either way, we believe we had it because of the symptoms, including the loss of our senses of smell and taste. These symptoms, coupled with fatigue and congestion, led us to believe we had the virus, and unfortunately, at least 14 other missionaries now have confirmed cases of Covid-19. So, we have spent the past several days quarantining, but thankfully, we are all on the mend now, and feeling much better.

We want to end this short update today by thanking you all for a tremendous year, in spite of all that has happened. Your generosity and prayers have made it possible for more than 1,200 hungry people to receive food for more than a month. Additionally, because of your giving, flood victims were able to receive help with replacing necessities lost in the floodwaters. Over 400 school children received educational supplies and textbooks, as well as temporary walls for the preschool rooms so that the children aren’t cold in the early mornings of December and January. You all are very generous, indeed! Thank you for blessing others because of the blessings God has given you!

This holiday season, as we reflect on the greatest Gift ever given to mankind, We are thankful for God’s incredible faithfulness, and we are thankful for your love, support and prayers that allow us to obediently follow Him to the ends of the earth. May God Bless you this holiday season and in the coming year. MERRY CHRISTMAS – JOYEUX NOEL!!

With Love,
Kris, Nicole, Emily & Eden Yeomans
